Anything you desire from the depths of your soul is, in reality, already yours.
All religions, spiritual practices, and cosmologies experiment with the idea of "prayer" and manifestation. While it may seem contemporary, manifestation derives its roots from ancient beliefs and scripture. These beliefs are predicated only on the idea that God or the universe is within you and that God fulfills your desires. To understand manifestation, first understand the material realm.

The material plane is represented by the second stage of the zodiac wheel, which is Leo to Scorpio rashi. Jyeshtha nakshatra marks the conclusion of Scorpio, and Magha nakshatra marks the beginning of Leo, two crucial signs for comprehending the material plane. Magha nakshatra signifies the start of the material plane, whereas Jyeshtha signifies its conclusion, if you see the 27 nakshatras as the journey of consciousness and take Ashwini as the stage preceding birth and Revati as dissolution.
Ashlesha, the nakshatra just before Magha, ends with the first gandanta knot—a significant turning point. Since Ashlesha is ruled by the nagas (serpent deities), this moment is key for the soul's discovery of its own sexual energy. In spiritual symbolism, snakes often represent kundalini, the rising force of sexual and life energy within.

All of our actions are driven by sexual energy, which is the active force that sets things in motion. It can, of course, be used for beneficial purposes like self-care or career development, or it can be squandered on pointless activities like playing video games and doom-scrolling all day. In the second stage of the zodiac (the tamasic phase), it helps us navigate and conquer the material world, while in the final stage (the satvic phase), it can be harnessed for spiritual and magical purposes.
In Magha, an individual begins to consciously direct their sexual energy toward the material world, conquering it by believing it already belongs to them. By wholeheartedly desiring something—with the heart representing Leo and the Sun—they can manifest it into reality. This is why Magha is often called the "kingly" nakshatra, tied to symbols of a throne, crown, and lion’s head, marking the start of Leo’s natural fifth house and its rulership over the material world.
Consider the nakshatras from Magha to Jyeshtha as stages in creating a business, artwork, or project. Here, Magha nakshatra represents the initial vision or idea—a divine spark that inspires one to start the journey. In Kabbalistic terms, Ketu and its nakshatras align with the Kether sphere, symbolizing the idea before action. Just as Ashlesha is the kinetic energy (energy in motion), Magha is the potential energy waiting to be realized. The following nakshatras and their planetary rulers help illustrate this process clearly:

Magha nakshatra represents the cosmic stage where a person envisions what they want to contribute to or receive from the world. Here, they imagine their life centered around the creation they’re bringing into being, along with its rewards—like security, wealth, fame, and recognition. In the ten Mahavidyas, Dhumvati embodies Ketu, symbolizing the void from which all creation emerges and eventually returns. In Kabbalah, Ketu aligns with Kether, the first sephira, representing unmanifest energy—pure potential where anything is possible because nothing is yet defined. Both of them are the "void," or unmanifest energy that exists before and after creation.
When we begin connecting with our desires, we realize that we often literally cannot even imagine having something we have never had before. This is why healing childhood or generational trauma is another important aspect of this, and is closely related to Magha's deities, the pitris, or our ancestors. For instance, imagine a person born into a family that has experienced generations of financial hardship. Here, Magha nakshatra symbolizes the phase of envisioning their potential for prosperity. Naturally, this journey requires deep introspection to transform limiting beliefs like "money is the root of all evil," "all rich people are greedy," "you need generational wealth to start a business," and so on.
People tend to accept beliefs as absolute truths when they have ample evidence supporting them, like the idea that "money is a scarce resource." Manifestation, however, is about intentionally challenging these assumptions and using visualization to imagine new possibilities. This can sometimes involve introducing new perspectives, such as reading stories of self-made individuals who built wealth without inheritance or recognizing examples of people who use money to help rather than harm.

Breaking these patterns requires deep reflection, an introspective quality that Ketu embodies. Without shifting perspective and being intentional (and adament) about one’s desires, a person is essentially carried along by external forces, rather than steering their own course. Unlike Swati (Rahu) nakshatra, whose symbol is a young plant shoot swaying in the wind, this calls for grounding onto the throne of Magha (Ketu).

This is exemplified in the movie Palm Springs, starring Andy Samberg (Magha Sun) and Cristin Milioti (Magha Sun, Magha Moon). The characters are stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day repeatedly until they undergo a profound internal transformation. Other films about overcoming old patterns or being trapped in time loops include:
Happy Death Day- starring Israel Broussard (Magha Sun)
The Silver Linings Playbook- directed by David O. Russell (Magha Sun)
Russian Doll- starring Charlie Barnett (Magha Moon)
Source Code- directed by Duncan Jones (Magha Moon)
Boss Level- directed by Joe Carnahan (*Ketu in Magha)
*Note: Ketu is our subconscious mind and the source of our creativity. For research on creative works like movies, books, artwork, etc., it is important to look at the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, and Ketu placements.
Themes of time travel often appear in Magha films and shows, reflecting the relativity of time. For example, in season 6 of Lucifer, Aurora, Lucifer's daughter, uses her anger to travel back in time. Her intense emotion, stemming from her frustration with Lucifer’s absence, causes her to self-actualize to the past, driven by her desperate desire to end Lucifer's life. Brianna Hildebrand, who plays Aurora, has Magha Moon.

These works of art highlight the fluidity of time and the transformative power of desire or manifestation, allowing one to break through preconceived limits. Goddess Dhumvati is the grandmother spirit that symbolizes the smoky dhavana shakti of Ketu and illustrates the ravages of aging and time. As Kali’s older form, she personifies time, or kaal. Traditionally, time is viewed as linear, constant, and finite. However, in the bold world of Magha nakshatra, time can be bent simply by the force of will. This Ketuvian perspective, both unsettling and intriguing, captures the fascination of many, which is why it resonates with such a broad audience.
Leo/Simha rashi is inherently linked to creation, offspring, romance, and focused sexual energy. In this realm, one creates with complete assurance about the outcome, fully devoting themselves to the process of creation or their object of desire. As the most solar sign, it embodies complete faith in its own power and virility. This mindset, combined with Ketu’s "headless" dominance in Magha, paradoxically leads to positive results. In this space, hopes are both conceived and realized, and this virility knows no concept of loss or disappointment. It is the mooltrikona of the Sun, driven by the singular belief that it will always and absolutely get what it wants.
Ambition can vary greatly from person to person, but most people don't believe reaching the pinnacle of success is achievable. Few even harbor the desire to rule an entire "kingdom," which is why Magha is considered a "kingly" nakshatra. Its essence represents a level of ambition and vision that few are willing or able to fully pursue.
How often do you wake up and decide that you want to be the President of America?
At the time, the United States of America is the largest superpower in the world. I therefore conducted an astrological analysis of the birth charts of each of the 45 US presidents. The outcomes of their Sun, Moon, and Ascendant nakshatras taken together are as follows:
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5640f3_c2067152005341c8a5722496a86aa452~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_960,h_540,al_c,q_90,enc_auto/5640f3_c2067152005341c8a5722496a86aa452~mv2.png)
Magha is the second-highest nakshatra overall, as you can see. The outcomes are surprising, but not unexpected. In a future blog post, I look forward to exploring the role of Hasta nakshatra in the US Presidency.
Natives of Magha Nakshatra often possess a naturally detached perspective on life. This detachment comes from an inherent understanding that what is meant for them will find its way, so there is no "wrong" path to follow. Interestingly, this very detachment often attracts more blessings, as when they stop desperately chasing after things, they become a magnet for everything they deserve—and more. Through their steadfastness and immobility, they exert authority. In fact, if they desire something extraordinary, like a unicorn, they are likely to manifest it.
Many people try to counterbalance the force of their desires by saying things like, "That’s not possible," "You don’t deserve that," or "Your expectations are too high." However, a Magha native's unwavering stance creates a natural submission in those around them. When others sense that they cannot move or change someone's perspective, they instinctively back off, respecting the strength of the Magha native's resolve.
The Magha attitude requires a form of tunnel vision, where the person embraces only the reality they wish to create, regardless of what others may say. It's interesting to note that the nakshatras in the diplomatic sign of Aquarius are less prominent in this context (Dhanishtha's position was higher only because of the Capricorn portion). While seeing multiple perspectives can be helpful in certain areas, taken to extremes, it can become overwhelming and confusing. Magha natives, however, are typically at peace with their manifestations because they perceive the desired reality and simply refuse to accept any other viewpoint. When you know something is already yours, there’s no room for anxiety about it.
Even if you are a Starbucks barista right now, it can be as simple as saying, "I am going to be the president of the United States on January 20th, 2045," and then just waiting for that day to come. Once you’ve made up your mind that it will happen, you won't feel upset about working as a barista today because you’ll know what lies ahead for you on January 20th, 2045. It’s this unwavering belief and certainty that align with the power of manifestation.
Much like Donald Trump (Magha Ascendant) in the modern era, Magha natives often become powerful public figures that others feel naturally compelled to submit to. Felix Kjellberg (Magha Moon), better known as PewDiePie, serves as another example. For five years, he held the title of the most-subscribed YouTuber and was the first to reach 100 million subscribers. His genuine, unfiltered nature and lack of obsession with actively gaining subscribers are what built the foundation of his channel, and it’s this authenticity that draws people to him.
PewDiePie is often heard saying "I don’t care" about many things. He emphasizes that he creates videos because he enjoys the process, not because he cares about how many subscribers he has. This phrase, "I don’t care," embodies Ketu's detached nature. The key takeaway is that detachment brings the desired outcome closer. As I’ll discuss in part 2 of this blog post, this detachment is one of the main keys to manifestation.
Even Jeon Jung-kook, the most well-known figure in K-pop history, has his Moon in Magha nakshatra.

Speaking of commanding authority, Leticia Padua (Magha Moon), better known as SheraSeven, has gained attention for her advocacy that women should only date men who can provide for them. She is one of the most notable influencers in this field, asserting that a man is not worthy of a relationship if he cannot support a woman financially. She even wrote a book titled I Bring Nothing to the Table to further express her views.
In her comments, Leticia Padua (SheraSeven) often faces a lot of opposition, with critics calling her a "gold-digger" or "lazy." A typical person opposing her might approach her content from the following points of view:
What do you bring to the table to make a man pay for your entire life?
Who are you to deserve this treatment?
Financially supporting another person fully is too much pressure for a man.
Why can't you pay for your own expenses when you are earning your own money?
Since you are earning your own money, you ought to make a financial contribution to the family as well.
and so on...
With the world's population at 8.2 billion, it's statistically likely that there is at least one man who would be willing to provide the kind of lifestyle SheraSeven advocates for. For most people, this idea is as hard to grasp as the thought of becoming the President of the United States.
People often project their own beliefs and limitations onto others, thinking if something seems impossible for them, it must be impossible for others too. For example:
"Since I don't believe I am worthy of being president, I don't think anyone else, even an average person, could be either."
"I don't believe I should be financially supported for the rest of my life, so I assume no one else deserves that kind of support either."
It's important to let people live their lives, even if their choices differ from yours. One of the key lessons from Ketu is to focus on yourself rather than judging others. It's not your concern.
This unwavering self-confidence is strongly shaped by the Sun and Ketu's influence over Leo and Magha. The Sun, as the ruler of Leo, governs individuality, self-esteem, and confidence. Since all other planets revolve around it, the Sun is considered the King of the planets in astrology.
Let us discuss Ketu's role here now.
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/5640f3_f0feca85399a4f75ae5c8814acd02b31~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_980,h_540,al_c,q_90,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/5640f3_f0feca85399a4f75ae5c8814acd02b31~mv2.png)
Ketu's symbol, the flag, often represents completion, identity, victory, or conquest. Flags are used by countries to mark their pride in reaching new frontiers, such as placing their flag on the Moon to celebrate exploring uncharted territory. Similarly, a black-and-white flag marks the end of a race when a winner is declared. A flag draped over a casket symbolizes respect and honor. In all these instances, a flag signifies pride in one's true self and ownership. It also acts as a marker, symbolizing something claimed or conquered. Historically, kings would raise flags to assert dominance and seize lands simply because they decided to do so.

The Sanskrit work for "flag" पताका (patākā) which is also the name of the flag gesture used in many traditional southeast-Asian dances. This mudra represents a flat, open hand with the thumb slightly bent inward towards the palm. This, of course, creates like a flat, flag-like shape. It is interesting to note that this hand motion is often seen as a sign of "showing" or revealing one's true self. Psychological studies suggest that people are more likely to trust you when your palms are open and facing forward, as it signifies honesty and openness. Similarly, when someone raises their hands in a threatening situation, such as when a weapon is pointed at them, it signals that they are unarmed and pose no threat, which can prevent violence. A raised hand can also act as a stop gesture or a way to say "no," rejecting opposing viewpoints. These actions resonate with the attitude of Magha and Ketu, which I discussed earlier. However, due to the Sun’s rulership, Magha nakshatra stands apart from Ashwini and Mula, as it embodies a more assertive, self-confident approach.
Since Hasta's symbol is a golden hand, it ties into why this nakshatra is associated with being the most prominent one for US presidents.
Magha natives have been proudly waving the flags of their authentic selves throughout history. They possess a unique, Ketuvian ability to draw people in with the same intensity as a black hole. With strong confidence, they embody a regal authenticity that not only captivates but also inspires others, naturally making them symbols of tradition and authority.
If you’re deeply ambitious, you can take practical steps to tap into the unwavering strength and mindset of Magha nakshatra. Alternatively, engaging in spiritual practices can help you cultivate more solar attributes. In the 2nd (and final) part of The Astrology of Manifestation series, we will explore the manifestation process further, with a special focus on how Magha plays a dominant role in this field. After the series concludes, I will also provide downloadable materials about these techniques for you to access.
Stay tuned!
